1000 robots being tested in homes and schools around South Korea

Robots being brought home in South Korea

Way to go South Korea trying to advance humanity by giving us robotic indentured servants! After announcing in January their intent to begin testing in-home (and school) robotic servants, technicians in South Korea are now begining rollout on the test. From September to December 2006, South Korea plans to test 1,000 mobile-phone controlled robots through homes and kindergartens around the country. Used primarily for cleaning rooms, providing companionship to children(!), and taking care of pets left home alone, all of the robots will be connected via a centralized network, which hopefully give us all a front-row seat into the robotic uprising which would occur shortly after the system goes live. I’ve been unable to find any information on whether they will adhere to Asimov’s 3 laws of robotics and no word on whether any of them will be named Robbie.

Im no professional, but I consider you just created the best point. You certainly know a whole lot about what youre discussing, and I can truly get behind that. Thanks for becoming so upfront and so truthful concerning the issue matter. I actually sense like I have a better understanding now.

I must say, as much as I loved reading what you had to convey, I couldnt help but lose attention after a while. It’s as if you had an ideal grasp on the issue, but you forgot to include your readers. Maybe you need to take into consideration this from more than one position. Or maybe you shouldn’t generalise so very much. It’s better if you consider what others may have to express as opposed to just going for the gut reaction to the matter. Think about adjusting your own thought procedure and giving other people who might browse this the benefit of the doubt.

What I wish to know is why should I care? I mean, not to say that what youve got to say isn’t critical, but I mean, its so universal. Everyone’s discussing this man. Give us some thing more, some thing that we can get behind so we can become as passionate about it as you do.
