Collection of scripts for every episode of Seinfeld ever aired

Seinfeld and Superman!

SERENITY NOW!!! We love the Seinfeld crew here and are watching and re-watching episodes like there’s no tomorrow. While we consider ourselves hardcore fans, we’d never consider ourselves hardcore enough to recreate Seinfeld episodes in our living room. Which is exactly what we can now do thanks to the mega Seinfeld community site, Seinfeld Chronicles. Other than having info and trivia on just about everything ever mentioned through Seinfeld’s 9 seasons, they also have an archive with every script for every episode ever filmed, including the pilot-episode! As I mentioned before, I’m always amazed at the communal power of the internet, espcially when that power is benefiting a community I consider myself a part of.

Frank: You’re late again, Costanza, so listen up. Starting tonight, we’re having a little sales contest. The loser gets fired, the winner gets a Waterpik.

Estelle: (From another room) You’re not giving away our Waterpik!

Frank: Serenity now!

George: You know what? It doesn’t matter, because I quit!

Frank: I guess your mother was right. You never could compete with Lloyd Braun! (Lloyd rings his sale bell and smiles)

George: You wanna sell computers? I will show *you* how to sell computers! Hello, Mr. Farneman. You wanna buy a computer? No? Why not? All right, I see! Good answer! Thank you! (Lloyd rings his sale bell)

Serenity now!

MSN secures online syndication rights to Arrested Development

Arrested Development

Marketing Vox is reporting that MSN has secured the online syndication rights to Fox’s canceled (boy what a mistake) cult television show Arrested Development. This gives MSN the rights to add all 53 episodes of Arrested to MSN’s store featuring free, ad-supported video-episodes. This marks the first time that a major studio has sold a show’s syndication rights to a web portal, at least according to AdAge. Way to go MSN! Arrested was also picked up by HDNet for HDTV syndication and by G4 for normal broadcast syndication.

Senator Stevens willing to go on Daily Show to defend his “tubes”

Series of tubes!

We resisted as long as we could, but sweet Mary Lou what is going on with US politics these days? How out of touch can these politicians be yet still demand respect and credibility from their constituents??? Bah! So, back to the story. Anyone using the inter-tubes should know the backstory to this, easily persuadable (by lobbyists of course not by his constituents) Republican Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Stevens explains to a room full of other easily persuaded senators that the internet is basically a series of tubes that gets clogged, thus net-neutrality should not be an option. He then gets completely torn apart about it, and rightly so, by the Daily Show in the sort of fashion that we all know and love. Well, word finally reached Senator Stevens (I guess his inter-tube is clogged because of all these top-tier services clogging them) and he’s now willing to go on the Daily Show to defend his statements, by telling reporters, AND I QUOTE:

“I have a letter from a big scientist who said I was absolutely right in using the word ‘tubes’”

Speechless. So yeah, watch the Daily Show video after the jump (as if you haven’t seen it already!)..

More talk of an Arrested Development movie

Arrested Development ahoy!

We love Arrested Development here at Bunch of Nerds, as many of you (hopefully) do. Naturally with it’s horrid treatment by Fox (boooo, hisssss) we were pretty bummed out when the final nail in it’s coffin was hammered in, resulting in the show’s cancellation. But with the latest Emmy nominations comes a bit of interesting gossip that the idea of an Arrested Development movie is (still) being tossed around. Though the chances are pretty slim, it’s still great to know there’s SOME sort of life left in Arrested Development, though how much money is actually left in the property remains to be seen.

…I’m pretty sure that, obviously it rests on Mitch [Hurwitz], any sort of project like that would have to come from him. It would be something that he would be really passionate about. If the story was right and you felt like that the story was right, and by story I mean money, was large enough, then he’d do it…

What on Earth is going on with Lost!?

Lost imploding!?

It’s always a touch boring when my favorite shows are in the off-season. But it seems the drama of Lost continues behind the scenes with scores of reports of inner strife, quitting contracts, long (show-killing) pauses in programming and much more juicy bits of gossip emerging. With using terms like, drama, long pauses, and juicy gossip in a sentance, I can of course only mean Lost, the island-drama super hit, which seems intent on crash landing before the story can complete itself.

We start off with the announcement that Lost will take a 13 WEEK HIATUS next year at the middle of season 3! Say what!? According to ABC this is what the fans wanted, as we apparentely decided we hate repeats and would like the show erased from the winter lineup completely. I think any fan would tell you they hate overly long breaks in programming more than sitting through a repeat. But that’s just my opinion.

More drama and gossip after the jump…

My Name is Earl to be turned into a comic book

My Name is Earl!

On the verge of Comic-Con, Oni Press announced that among other new titles, they will be bringing Fox’s hit comedy, My Name is Earl to comic book form, to be guided by Hunter Covington, who is script coordinater and writer for the television show. Oni hasn’t announced any details yet, only hinting that many guest writers and actors will appear alongside Earl in his quest for karmic salvation. I wonder at what level Kevin Smith was involved with this news, seeing as Smith is quite a comic fan himself, I can imagine him appearing alongside Earl on the pages very soon.

The greatest game show hosts of all time

Game shows!

Those fashionable cats over at retroCRUSH have compiled a list of the top 30 greatest game show hosts of all time. When I was a kid I was addicted to these things, Press Your Luck, The Price is Right, I would go nuts thinking of visiting the sets and being in the crowd during a taping. Pretty much all of game show history is represented here, from The Price is Right to Press Your Luck, to Win Ben Stein’s Money. What I would do for a whammy plush doll….

Super Nerds failed pilot up on YouTube

Patton Oswalt's failed pilot episode on YouTube

The pilot for Patton Oswalt (King of Queens), Brian Posehn, and Sarah Silverman’s failed television project, “Super Nerds” has been up on YouTube for awhile now for all to watch and (probably not) enjoy. I still feel a bit odd seeing YouTube used as a marketing ground of television and movie executives, but, if that helps YouTube stay afloat then more power to them (they have to make money somehow). While Oswalt and Posehn do a pretty spot-on portrayal of a couple of comic-book store owning nerds, they also appear a bit uncomfortable or at least a bit nervous, which leads to more than a few awkward and uncomfortable silences when there should be laughter. I wish them luck, but I can certainly understand why this was a pass.

Watch the video and maybe laugh a few times after the jump…
