Triball – Three player, 3D Tic-Tac-Toe

Triball - 3D Tic Tac Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe finally gets an upgrade (Tic-Tac-Toe 2.0?) with the release of Triball, a three player, 3D version of every child’s favorite pen and paper game. The game consists of a transparent box of plastic, partitioned into 9 columns, where three players take turns dropping colored balls into the row, with the ultimate goal being to get three of your colors in any direction, including diagonally . A cool little toy to sit on any connected worker’s office shelf.

A Tribe Called Quest reunite for 2K Sports’ Bounce Tour

A Tribe Called Quest reunite

It seems all my late night calls to Q-Tip finally paid off, with the announcement yesterday from Take Two Games (and our nerdy gamer cousins) that the Midnight Marauders themselves, A Tribe Called Quest, will be reuniting for a dozen date tour promoting 2K Sports’ newest basketball title, NBA 2K7. I have to admit, I’m impressed with how well Take Two coalesces with the music industry, not in that EA, we’ll support whatever the kids listen to when they’re applying their mascara crap either, but actual meaningful, interesting music artists who deserve all the support they get.

Watch the video for A Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation” after the jump..

Battlestar Galactica video game coming for Xbox Live Arcade and PC

Battlestar Galactica

In a recent (and detailed) investor presentation from Vivendi Games it was revealed that a Battlestar Galactica game is currently under development for Sierra Games, a subsidiary of Vivendi. The game is reportedly on-target for a 2007 release for Microsoft’s Live Arcade network as well as for PC. No information on whether this will be a licensed tie-in for the Sci Fi networks hit television series or whether this will be fashioned after the original series was presented by Vivendi, though the logo image included in the presentation appeared to be from the modern Battlestar Galactica (!!!).
