It’s been around the web a few million times, but we’ve gotten a handful of tips regarding Discovery HD’s beautifully done 3D simulation showing Earth’s destruction by a massive asteroid impact. With soundtrack provided by Pink Floyd, you watch as the impact creates massive destruction, followed by a flowing wall of superheated air and gases which circumvents the globe, roasting most, if not all living things to a crisp. This video should make quite a few 12.21.2012 believers salivate with apocalyptic fervor!

Found over at Flickr, police in Mountain View, California were called in on a report of an abandoned baby in a trash-can behind a Wal-Mart. Apparently upon arrival, it was determined to be a burrito. What!?!!?

I’m a vegan who can appreciate a fine grilled piece of bacon, as you can see from the bacon coffee I posted on below. Majel Barret-Roddenberry passed away Friday, December 18th of leukemia, which she was diagnosed with 6 months ago. Majel was a major part of the Star Trek universe, created by husband Gene Roddenberry, since it’s premier in 1966. Playing acting and voice parts in every major Star Trek series, including the upcoming JJ Abrams film remake in 2009, Mrs. Roddenberry kept the Star Trek world grounded in the original vision of her husband. She will be missed.
