Open that greasy diner of your dreams

Dinermite!

I’ve always wanted to open a diner. Greasy spoon, all you can drink coffee at 2am served by waitresses chewing gum who you know just doesn’t give a damn about your problems in the middle of the night. Thankfully, there is always some enterprising company making my (potential) life just that much easier. Atlanta, Georgia’s Dinermite has taken pre-fab architecture to new heights, by offer a series of modular, pre-stocked Diner setups for those of you who’ve always wished about changing your name to Frank or Bill and sticking up a ton of chrome on your street corner. Including everything from the checkerboard flooring to the kitchen sink, Dinermites’ modular diner systems provide almost everything a diner-aficionado needs to get their own greasy spoon up and running. Minus the cute aprons, jukebox and attitude of course.

XM and Sirius to merge, finally

satellite.jpg

Geez, took you guys long enough. I remember thinking to myself years ago that the satellite radio market wouldn’t roll out as quickly as these two were hoping for. The two satellite radio giants today announced that they will merge, creating one mega-satellite radio station to rule them all, providing a pick and choose al a carte menu of radio shows featuring Martha Stewart, Bob Dillon and Howerd Stern. It remains unclear whether stockholders and the FCC will allow the merger, seeing as how the FCC frowns upon monopolistic behavior.

Scan, copy and fax (for free) with your digital camera or cellphone

scanR

I can’t count how many times I’ve been in the office and needed to keep whiteboard sketches from a meeting, only to have them erased by someone who didn’t pay attention to my “DO NOT FRICKIN’ ERASE” note. Those days are over, thanks to the genius web application scanR. With scanR, you simply take photos of business cards, whiteboards or documents using your mobile phone (have to have 1 mega-pixel+ camera though) or digital camera, then email or MMS them to scanR. In return you’ll recieve an activation code in order to create your account and set where you’d like to receive your scans. You then get the business card, whiteboard or document you scanned in your email (or you can set someone else’s email, say, a business partner) in PDF format, ready to print out and save.
