Created by Josh Rubin, the New York City-based founder of CoolHunting, Freehands are a brilliant and stylish accessory for everyone wanting to use their iPhone on icy days, without freezing your digits off. Together with his father, who oddly enough manufactures and sells gloves, the two realized the ‘glove-or-phone’ conundrum over dinner, quickly sketching out and brainstorming affordable, stylish and functional gloves for the mobile worker.

Available in fleece or leather, Freehands are the perfect gift for your iLove this Christmas, even if they use a Blackberry or other mobile device.

Scientists working for the Air Force have created t-shirts and underwear that can be worn hygienically for weeks without having to be washed. By attaching nanoparticles to clothing fiber using microwaves, then binding special chemicals that repel water, oil and bacteria, scientists have created a protective coating on the clothing, forcing liquids to simply bead up and run off. Naturally the US military was behind the innovation, which could revolution the sports industry as well as the killing industry. The total cost for research and development came to around $20 million and is intended to protect soldiers in the future from biological weapon attacks, much like the attacks seen during Desert Storm, which actually killed more soldiers than accidents and friendly fire.
