Nothing like breakfast with fresh-brewed…maple bacon coffee?

The love of coffee runs deep at Bunch of Nerds HQ, as does the love of a good heavy Saturday morning breakfast. Bacon, pancakes, eggs, country ham and toast does a body good, at least for the first few days. Coffee is a drug, you dig?

Sweet brown nectar, why must your mere existence always confuse me? Researchers at the University of Bristol are now saying that regular caffeine intake does not make one more alert, rather it simply returns one back to normal from the withdrawal symptoms experienced in between. Regular morning coffee drinkers appear to experience a minor addiction, which results in overnight withdrawal, leading the sufferer to mistake the stimulating feeling after their next cup as an actual boosting effect of the coffee. David Lynch unveils his signature coffee line

David Lynch

David Lynch, one of the nerd’s favorite thinkers, has released his line of signature blend coffees, available exclusively through his webshop. All organic (naturally!), the line consists of 3 blends, “Organic Espresso”, “Organic House Roast” and “Organic French Roast Decaf”. The blends are a bit pricey (around $17 for 12oz of the Espresso blend), but a) you get coffee approved by David Lynch himself and b) a portion of the proceeds go to the David Lynch Film Scholarship Fund at the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Studies.

No more ugly coffee stains from your mugs

Stamp coffee mugs

Being that I’m addicted to coffee, I’ve had a lot of experience with annoying coffee ring stains left on my coffee table. While still annoying, designers Valeria Miglioli & Barnaby Barford have created this lovely set of coffee mugs with floral ring-mark patterns casted into the bottom to at least help one accept that coffee stains can also be a work of art. Oh, the patterns also complement each other so you can create endless patterns of coffee stained beauty!
