New Yorkers love their dogs and this past weekend the 5th annual Times Square Dog Day Masquerade raised awareness for homeless and abandoned pets. These two pirates mentioned that people who abandon their pets are gonna have to walk the plank!

Here is my daughter, age 3, explaining the plot of Star Wars Episode IV.

She explained the whole movie to me in much greater detail but unfortunately I didn’t have the camera going. When I finally caught her talking about the movie again she delivered this truncated, but still funny, version.

A little more about the video: She wasn’t coached to say anything, nor was she forced to make the video. She rarely stops talking. Those of you with children understand this: sometimes it’s harder to turn the faucet off than to turn the faucet on.

The video was edited to make it shorter, more cohesive and hopefully funnier. I did move some of the lines around so it would make more sense.

Can’t…contain……the cuteness! Jessica is a young hippo in South Africa, who has decided to take up residence with a small family, who live by the waterway where nearby wild hippos roam. She’s practically trained as a pet, eating together with the families dogs, opening doors on her own and even walking through the house, heading for the kitchen to beg for more food. Hippos and dogs living together, awwwwww.

I recently came upon this video of a monkey (can anyone tell me what type?) playing(?) with two young tiger cubs in what looks to be a jungle setting, so I’m not sure if these are in captivity. The monkey is jumping all over the place, teasing the cubs by pulling their ears and tails, while dodging the cubs’ arms as they try and pounce on the monkey as he jumps from tree to tree. This little dude is in insane, really, I can’t imagine what would happen if the momma tiger came in and saw this little monkey going crazy. This seems to have come off of one of those feel-good home video shows that are on in every country around dinnertime, complete with cheesy ‘kapow!’ sound effects and dopey music.
