In a recent appearance at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, David Hasselhoff of the 1980s television series Knight Rider, revealed to a “stunned” room of fans that KITT was in fact, homosexual. Whether or not Hasselhoff was joking is unclear nor did he explain how automobiles can have a gender type and sexual preference. I mean, what does this then mean for the whole KITT vs KARR storyline!? The Hoff has seemed a bit unstable lately, with many people attributing his erratic behavior to an oft-rumored drinking problem. His problems seem to only get worse a few days after dropping the KITT = gay bomb when he fell asleep on the set of GMTV during a commercial break where he was appearing for an interview about his autobiography and new single, “I want to drive you home”.

KARR was by far the best villain to feature on Knight Rider, this time resurrected after being found buried in the sand at the beach. The episode these scenes came from were from Knight Rider season 3, where KARR manipulates the beach-goer who found him into helping him continue his crime spree, resulting in an epic battle in the sand . Little did KITT’s evil prototype know that Michael and KITT wouldn’t stand for it, and let’s face it, you can’t beat the ‘Hoff.

But yet I can’t stop watching it! There’s just something about that man, be it his uncomfortable gyrations or his snarky facial expressions, that just draws me (and millions of German housewives) in and doesn’t let me go. In this video, part of Hoff’s new promotional campaign by Sony BMG Australia (posted to Google Video and YouTube by Sony BMG), you can see the Hoff cashing in on his past shows, from driving K.I.T.T to standing in front of a green-screen displaying the Baywatch beach. The song is actually nothing special (certainly not up to par with “Night rocker” – “I am the night rocker I wanna rock you all night long I am the night rocker I wanna love you in a song!!!!”), actually it’s a cover of The Ted Mulry Gang’s “I want to drive you home”, but the Hoff once again comes through with his usual amount of “gusto” as the record company shills put it.
