Hi all, many apologies for the lack of posts yesterday (Wed) and today (Thur). We are currently making some layout changes and updating some blog system files, which of course always ends up being more work than initially expected. Hi all you wacky newsfeed subscribers! I just wanted to announce that as of today, our newsfeed will now feature full-text posts, rather than summaries, which we were feeding earlier. The reason for this is that we’ve switched teams (har har spot the Seinfeld reference) and are fully behind giving our newsfeed subscribers our all, especially considering that we’ve switched to an ad-supported newsfeed thanks to our friends over at FeedBurner. So, we hope you enjoy and let your friends know that they’re missing out if they aren’t subscribed. Missing out on what you may ask? Good question.

Hello dear Bunch of Nerds feed subscribers, you are the only ones receiving this post as it’s part of our “feed-only” category of posts. In the future we’ll be posting a handful of feed-only articles weekly, which will not be featured anywhere else on the main site (at least not on most of the public pages). Naturally the full-text page and category is public, so those who happen upon the articles are free to read them. You could also tell all your friends and then the surprise is ruined. OR you could tell your friends to subscribe to our news feed and then THEY TOO can be involved in the “secret”. What fun.

So I’ll start things off with the announcement that we’ll be opening up our comments section to the general public! Name and e-mail address will still be required (e-mail addresses will not be published) in order to comment and 2 URLs per comment is the limit. For those who don’t know, we had a HUGE spam problem in the past, but, we’ve installed a few counter-measures and are expecting only a handful of spams to make it through this time (spam always does make it through).

So, we the nerds are cordially inviting you, the feed reader, to join us in our nerddom and comment on some of the weird crap we’re posting about throughout the day. Naturally some forms of etiquette are encouraged, and while we’re not expecting everyone to agree, we at least hope everyone can get along.
