For the past few years, millions of television viewers around the world have been racking their brains as to what the island is, will Kate end up with Jack or Sawyer or will Hurley ever really be happy. The predominant question of course being what the heck is going on with that weird island? Hunter’s Lost: A Theory in Time Travel aims to spell it all out. With an assured tone, he points out intricate and mind-bending plot points and easter eggs sprinkled throughout Lost, pointing to what he believes to be the ‘big reveal’ coming in a few years from the producer and writers of Lost. If you dare, get lost in this theory and then go impress your friends with all of your newfound knowledge.
Growing up, I couldn’t get enough of The Price Is Right game show on daytime television. Being a young design nerd, one of the things that fascinated me the most was the wonderfully presented game props with their Madison Ave layouts, their swooping curves and flashing lights of various colors, wrapped around beautiful typography from various decades. Now, thanks to some amazing fans, you can find the corresponding font to some of your favorite Price Is Right games, from Hi-Lo, to Safe Crackers and Spelling Bee!

DLMers of the world jump for joy. Dead Like Me start Ellen Muth (Georgia) recently dropped some new information about the long-awaited Dead Like Me DVD film, teasing fans with the tidbit that if the direct to DVD film sells well, it could possibly revive the series on an unknown network. The downside? Series heavyweights Rube (played by Mandy Patinkin), and series creator Bryan Fuller (busy as writer and co-executive producer of Heroes) are not attached to the project, sadly. There are also rumors that Daisy (played by Laura Harris), will have limited, if any involvement. Recent industry casting calls have pointed to a new plot based around the film, which, could work or could possibly not. Personally, I think the void left by Rube is a huge one to fill, Daisy not so, but, still, any sort of DLM news is good news. All I hope is that Muth is looking a touch healthier than the later episodes of season two, where I was worried more about her health rather than seeing her accept her role as a grim reaper and somehow reunite with her family.
Plot breakdown from a recent industry casting resource:
When Calvin Kane, a slick businessman who couldn’t care less about helping the newly dead, takes over Rube’s Head Reaper duties, all hell breaks loose, bringing out the worst in Daisy, Roxy, and Mason. George, however, is determined to set her latest, botched reap right, especially because the boy who was supposed to die, Hudson Hart, is her little sister Reggie’s secret boyfriend. In the process, George and Reggie re-connect for real, for the first time.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Columbia University alumnus Matthew Fox (Jack on Lost people!) was asked to do a keynote speech at this year’s Columbia University Class Day festivity. This being a Northeastern university, a small scandal broke out among the student population, with students arguing over whether a more decorated speaker could have been chosen. Fox having graduated with a degree in Economics from Columbia, playing on their varsity football team, being a talented photographer and last but not least, the star of one of the biggest television shows to hit the tubes in recent memory, didn’t seem to be successful enough for many students at one of the nation’s top-10 colleges.
But, Fox pulls it off, giving an amusing, slightly inspiring speech, even though he had to hunch over the podium due to the low microphone. He seemed to connect with the crowd and it’s hard to hear a ‘boo’ anywhere, even when he asks one of his most vocal critics to stand up, wave and say hello, in a nice sort of way.

The fellow TV Addicts at thetvaddict.com reported yesterday that Battlestar Galactica will be seeing a fourth season on the Sci-Fi Network, surprising quite a few naysayers who were expecting the show to be axed after viewership declined heavily for the early parts of this 3rd season. Battlestar is one of the most amazing shows that noone seems to watch, so it would have been a huge pity if such a dynamic and intelligent drama would see the way of the trash bin.

A young Japanese anime fan takes on Western animation kings The Simpsons, converting them into a hyper-glowing anime-style community who you know are just waiting to bring out the tentacles, spiked gloves and techno-pop. I love the deviant look of most of the characters, most of whom look ready to shoot you with some sort of experimental apocalyptic near-future heat laser gun.

Our nerdy little brothers (or whatever) over at Playthrough came upon a fun little machinima video that seems to be getting some exposure around the interweb. Since we’re huge Battlestar Galactica fans we couldn’t help but give it a look or three and post it up on our side of the pond. Battlestar Galactica returns Sunday, January 21 at it’s new time of 10pm EST, though, we’re not so hot on the new day and time, a similar time switch occurred for X-Files, so let’s hope that slot is as beneficial to Battlestar as it was for those Xers.

Finally, one of our most-anticipated returns to television is coming, January 14th. ROME is returning after a looooong break, taking us back head first into one of the greatest ancient Roman remakes ever to grace television. HBO will do wise to start cutting some production costs and keep this show going.
As one tragic chapter ends, a new, more ruthless one begins. In the wake of Caesar’s murder, allegiances are tested, fortunes are gained and lost, and families and political factions find themselves in an elaborate power struggle. Don’t miss the second season of ‘Rome,’ the epic series that chronicles the events surrounding the fall of a Republic and the birth of an empire. The second season of the Emmy® award-winning drama series premieres January 14th on HBO.

So it’s Christmas and I’ve got the flu dammit. But what better way to celebrate than with Gumby’s Christmas Special, an epic SNL skit from 1982 featuring Eddie Murphy, Gary Kroeger, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Joe Piscopo.

Not that half of you even want to know about Lost anymore with the dismal reception the show has been receiving from old and new fans alike. I still believe, once this soap opera mess is over and Kate figures out she really loves Jack, we can move on with some serious mystery solving and Lost will return to it’s suspenseful glory (hopefully without Pualo and Nikki). Sigh. So yeah, Lost is currently on it’s fall break and those of us who are bored of reruns already should take this time to polish up our Lost knowledge. What better way is there than by visiting the Lost wiki page, a treasure-trove of hints, trivia, small details and lots of nerdy folk we can all relate to.
