Everything you wanted to know about Lost and then some

Lost

Not that half of you even want to know about Lost anymore with the dismal reception the show has been receiving from old and new fans alike. I still believe, once this soap opera mess is over and Kate figures out she really loves Jack, we can move on with some serious mystery solving and Lost will return to it’s suspenseful glory (hopefully without Pualo and Nikki). Sigh. So yeah, Lost is currently on it’s fall break and those of us who are bored of reruns already should take this time to polish up our Lost knowledge. What better way is there than by visiting the Lost wiki page, a treasure-trove of hints, trivia, small details and lots of nerdy folk we can all relate to.

Business cards for the cast of the original Star Trek

Original Star Trek business cards

Over at Flickr (where I’ve wasted my whole morning trying to retrieve a password from an old account thanks to their pile of crap system which has been integrated into Yahoo’s pile of crap system) I just noticed a brilliant photo of someone’s Star Trek memorabilia score. In the 80s, Flickr user “The Rocketeer” found a collection of business cards for some of the characters of the original Star Trek. From Captain Kirk to Cyrano Jones, there are nifty little quotes and everything attributed to each character. Would be a perfect gift for the Star Trek nerd in your family, if only they were still available.

Greg Beeman blogs about producing Heroes

Greg Beeman blogs about Heroes

Forget the Heroes wiki (ok don’t, not really), Greg Beeman, one of the directors and producers of everyone’s favorite new sci-fi tv series Heroes, has a wonderful blog up discussing his experiences during the production of his episodes. Though sometimes containing a few spoilers, Beeman is offering up TONS of great information and insight, including lots of great behind the scenes photos, brief interviews with the many people involved in the show, and giving his first-hand explanations of decisions he and other’s have made about the show’s direction. Now this is the type of fan-interaction I *love* to see with some of my favorite shows, less intern-backed official blogs and more blogs directly from those who have their hands on the switch. Thanks Greg and keep up the great work!

Borat attacked on the street, saved by House M.D.

Borat

Shortly after a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, Sacha Baron Cohen, the mastermind behind Borat, was attacked in-character on a street corner in NYC. While in-character, Borat approached a bystander on the street and reportedly said “I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it”. It being New York City, the bystander attacked, punching Cohen repeatedly before none other than Hugh Laurie, AKA House M.D. came to his rescue. Thankfully Laurie was with Cohen as they were on their way for dinner together. As Cohen struggled to get back to his feet, Laurie pushed the attacker off Cohen and defused the situation. Cohen was reported to be badly shaken but not seriously injured.

Heroes online graphic novels

Heroes Graphic Novel

Heroes is without a doubt one of the most exciting shows of this newish television season. Now that Lost is beginning to fizzle out a little, Heroes is here to continue the charge, providing pounds of excitement and suspense every week as well as one of the coolest characters on television to date (HIRO!!!! Who else?). As a way of extending the story (and their advertising revenue), NBC is offering small Heroes graphic novels every week, which serve to push the storyline of each episode slightly farther, giving us a little more insight into the large amount of characters on the show. The novels are available to read over the web OR available as PDF downloads, which is of course the true way to read a comic folks!

Terry Jones, star of Monty Python has cancer

Monty Python

It’s been reported over the weekend that Monty Python stay Terry Jones has been diagnosed with bowel cancer and is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in London. The talk is that they’ve caught it soon enough and hopes are high that treatment will be successful, but, still, cancer is nothing to play around with, so let’s all hope for the best. Monty Python’s Spamalot has just opened on London’s West End, where Jones was in attendance, enjoying himself and posing for pictures along with Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam.
