Jay Moore leaving Garage Games

Torque game engine

Jay Moore, marketing director for Garage Games announced via his blog today that he’ll be leaving the Garage to pursue other opportunities, no doubt within the gaming industry (we can only hope). Jay was seen by many as the one of the driving forces behind the success of Garage Games, the Torque Games Engine and the success of Marble Blast on the Xbox 360. He’ll surely be missed and I wonder how he possibly could be replaced in a company which is still struggling to establish itself outside of the hobbyist indie games market.

Torque Game Builder 1.1.0

Garage Games have announced the full release of the Torque Game Builder, unofficially known as the Torque 2D engine. With a focus on simplicity, the package features user-friendly editors to manipulate a powerful engine, with features such as animated sprites, special effects system, real world physics, flexible tiles, and a hardware-accelerated 2D rendering graphical engine. With the announcement also comes the addition of the TGB Pro package, which costs a touch more, but gives the user direct access to the TGB and TorqueScript source code.
